Oil Viscosity
I bought a 5 quart bottle of Mobil1 5-20 by accident and cannot find my receipt. I'm thinking of mixing the 5-20 with some 10-40 and using it that way. Do you think this would be OK. I really do not want to use the 5-20 because it is a little thin.

I've been running 4.5 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-20 + 1 quart of 0W-30 racing for about 2500 miles and notice no difference in oil pressure. I used to run 4.5 quarts of 0W-30 and 1 qt of the racing for the previous ~50K miles.
1 step up or down won't kill your engine. I see 6K+ RPM rather often and I'm not worried or concerned.

Almost all Toyotas take 5-20 as well, agree, just give it away and spend another $24 for the right oil. I'm sure some friend with a Toyota will buy it off you in a second for $20 or so.

Peace of mind is what you want. If mixing will do it, do it. If selling it for $15 or $20 to someone works, do it. I don't think you'll go wrong either way. Then again, it's not my money or my cars
