Like previously stated, start with the small stuff. Make sure your connection is good. Flush that AF out and throw in some distilled water with water wetter. That will get you off to a good start. I would also hit up your tuner and ask about the fan. Maybe they can adjust further to help?

Unreal,

What are the cooling mods that you did that made the biggest difference for you?

Aha there's an inter cooler in front of the radiator I missed that!

This is not going to be popular and for the must part will read stupid but if you want to really know how happy is your cooling system with out the inter cooler remove it and replace with equal diameter tubing just for the test.

In your case a dual core alum radiator and dual Spal fans will help a lot.

Radiator. Then fans. It's a complete combo. Get a full size Dewitts and d3 fan setup to start. After that a vented hood and start ceramic coating. Next is aftermarket oil coolers

Thanks! Already got the Dewitts but need to upgrade the fans and then go from there. Although, I don't have much in the way of cooling problems. Figured I'd ask since we are on the subject.

Just make sure you get decent fans. Too many people fall for ones that look pretty that actually work worse than stock. Not everything aftermarket is an upgrade over factor.

Bling = performance! LOL just kidding. Any recommendations on fans(to help out the OP and myself)? I'm looking for something that can hook up to the ECM/PCM/ECU(whatever acronym you wish to use) that turns on and off automatically. I was looking at Dewitts dual fans but those are manual so I'm not sure I want to go that route.

Also, what hood do you recommend? Thank you!

But at 900 bucks?! That's a joke. Dewitt's fans have worked on countless boosted cars for years.

You asked... and lots of cars have had overheating problems for years too

Not saying they won't work for your setup.. maybe they will work just fine. But if you want something that will connect to factory computer that will move the most air possible, D3PE's are it

Define worked? As in they turned on? Sure, they did that. Stock fans worked too, in fact stock fan works better than those.

Stay stock, or dual the d3. Only other option is the 17" PWM fan but that doesn't work yet with OEM control, and doesn't flow as much as the d3, and is still ~$700.

is it just running hot driving around at slow speeds? How is it when driving 55mph and up? Fans don't even run at hwy speeds so if it's getting hot at hwy speeds I would be looking elsewhere other than the fans

I have the dual fans and a Dewitts radiator and live in probably one of the worst possible places to drive a vette....TEXAS! Yesterday it was 104 degrees outside, today its soppose to be 107 degrees!!! Especially in traffic is really when the car will get hot. Im about to get my Setrab oil Cooler because i'm sick of the oil temps going thru the roof.

Quick question, what do you guys consider "normal temp" for a LS3 car Manual 6-speed? That being OIL and COOLANT? just curious to see what your guys temps get up to just to compare...
