Default Intermittent Pass Mirror Memory Issue

08Z that had the pass mirror replaced a couple years back. I have an intermittent problem with the mirror not retaining it's memory position. 50-60% of the time it retains it's position between locking / unlocking the doors but the other 30-40% it drives the mirror so the outer edge fully extended out and inner edge is fully retracted into the housing. I have disassembled the door and verified the connections in the door. I have reprogramed the fob memory position waiting for the two beeps over 20 times. It will work for a few drives and then act up again.

If a mirror is changed on a C6 does the BCM care? Do the mirrors have an unique ID for the BCM. Any idea's. I haven't been able to identify a pattern on when it works or doesn't. It seems like the remote might tend to trigger the memory position lost more often but I think I have seen it by using the door panel lock as well.

Does anyone what would cause the mirror to default to a fully extended outer and upper and fully retracted inner and bottom position?

Need some insight on how to isolate the problem and trouble shoot or fix it.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.
