Drivers side seat belt it retracts just fine. the problem is after you pull it out, put it around you, it locks you can't lean forward or adjust in your seat it locks like you had a collision, unbuckle it, it rolls right up, pulls right out, I've looked for a youtube fix but nothing for a GM belt. any ideas?
Are you pulling it all the way out to the end and then buckling it around you...if so, this is normal. To avoid this, do not pull the belt out all the way, pull it just enough to buckle.

This is exactly how GM designed it. It is for performance driving, that way you can have the seatbelt very tight and it will not give or move and keep you from sliding around. I use that function quite a bit when i want to turn and burn in a serious fashion.

Sorry, but I don't think so...After I hook my seatbelt, I can pull it out slowly without it catching...I think Dano has the right idea...WW

As cclive noted in post #4, if you pull the belt out to full extension (aka all the way), then buckle and release the excess, the tensioner will lock.
The feature is spelled out in the owner's manual.
For additional support/tension once the excess has been released, you can move the seat forward to take up any remaining slack as desired.

OK, that makes sense, on my C4 there's a button next to the bottom of the seatbelt called a tensioner..You push this button and it takes out the slack, then locks the belt so it won't move......WW

e after telling countless people to read their owners manual, I guess now I've been told.
