My car has the climate control settings and now when it's warm enough to kick the A/C on only cold air comes out of the passenger vents and the driver vents blow ambient air. Anyone have any ideas what's going on? I had my performance shop refresh the refrigerant back in March as it wasn't blowing cold air at all at that point. Just seems like this started happening recently (last couple weeks). Thanks!
More info....dual climate control and when both sides are set on the same temp (say 70) it blows cold air on the passenger side with ambient air on the driver side.
I just had the refrigerant recharged back in March and I've only put maybe 800 miles on the car. If it's low again I must have a leak somewhere. The last time I was low I couldn't get any cold air out of the vents though. This time it's cold out of passenger vents but not driver vents. Almost seems like a control issue with the system and not recognizing it needs to use cold air on the driver side.
Believe me, I thought the same thing. I even pulled my drivers side actuator off and tested it. After reading many posts, I finally evacuated the system and refilled it by freon weight. Works great and cools both sides.
I'll have the shop check Freon levels and make sure it's full first.
jft69z.....not sure exactly the temp coming out, but on a hot day (90+) and the climate control set at around 72 on both side, you can feel cold air coming out like a typical A/C unit but the air coming out the drivers side doesn't feel cool at all.

Why not just turn off the passenger side? In the 100 degrees temps here I'm getting Very cold air from the top two vents to cool the cab.

The reason I'm asking is to see if the system is capable of adequate cooling. If you're set to max cool and getting 42 degrees out of the pass. side and 75 out of the driver side (just an example), then we at least know the system is capable of good temps. Sounds a bit more like an air diversion issue (without actually being there).
Get a small thermometer & get some readings on max cool, recirc. turned on.
