Hey everyone
This has probably been talked about countless times but I have a 05 and want to put headers on it but honestly don't know what inlet and collecter combo I should get or brand etc. so what's everyone's thoughts and combos and brands I'm gonna be getting a cam in the very near future so if that effects the combos just let me know! Thanks in advance

You cannot go wrong with LG or ARH. Just go look at them and then pick one to buy.

I run ARH. If you plan on making big power get the 2" primaries.

100% on the LS2 run the 1 3/4" headers NOT the 1 7/8" (or anything larger).

Good Luck.

There are a few forum vendors that can help you out on a new set (ARH lol). Keep an eye out on the for sale forum. Be patient and some will pop up with a good savings over new.

I'm running ARH 1 3/4 inch headers with their hi-flow cats/X pipe & Corsa Sport mufflers. The combination has been great for both performance & sound. Also had a dynamic tune done by ECS which greatly adds to the performance gains.

if you are going to add power like all the bolt ons and a cam and maybe heads then get the 1 7/8" but if you just do the mufflers and maybe a CAI then go with the 1 3/4". The reason for this is the stock ls2 engine doesnt make enough power for the larger headers. you lose some torque and it will feel slower. once you add power like a ported TB and intake and cam the larger headers will will help.

Because of the head design on the LS2, the 1 7/8" headers loose a ton of tq compared to 1 3/4" headers with no increase up top.

On an LS2, with stock heads, always run 1 3/4" headers.

Dennis50nj (RIP) had dyno charts showing this.

if you want a modified 05 sell yours first as it is stock ..and then buy one that is already modified - you can get the upgrade for free or even less

when you have cash in hand you are king for mod car purchases , you may rethink your options differently and have saved a fortune in the transition

your current plan is financially less economical and less productive

you can get more for less this way

trying to sell your- soon to be modifed unit- later is a less than prudent financial decision

newer later model c-6s will deliver the same or better performances for the same cost into your moded 05 and you won't get hit on the resale of the modiified c6 - 05

chose wisely

Put the headers on and enjoy what you have

Your can always take them off and put your stock exhaust back on if you ever want to sell it
