Default The dreaded battery drain

Hi all, battery on the C6 is going down rather quicker than usual so have been checking the drain, but unsure how to interprate the results.

Initial hook up multi meter shows 4.08 amps for around 30 secs
Then drops to 0.23 amps (10A setting ) and .023 (2ma setting)
After around 2 minutes raises again to 4 amps for another 30 secs
Then finally drops to 0.05 (10A) and.005 (2ma setting)
Meter then remains steady at the last readings.

So question is this the normal shut down on a C6? am I looking at 5ma or 50 ma and what should the drain be?

If the readings are OK then it will be the battery I guess

I hate electrics

.005 amps draw once it all settles down is real good. (mine is .007 amps)

Replace your battery

Yours looks great.

Just for info, this is a pretty typical test:

Time 0 -6.13A (door open and close)
@20 sec -4A
@40 sec -2.5A
@50 sec -.195 to -.227A
@2 min -3.8A (jumps back up)
@2.5 min -2.9A
@2.75 min -.013A to -.026A

All sorted now, new battery fitted and no drop in voltage over the past three days unlike the original which dropped from 12.6 to 12.2v in the same time frame, so guess it was simply a duff battery after all, but at least I got a change to check the system through, always good to know things are behaving as they should.
Although unrelated I have just fitted a new EVAP solenoid after getting the 0449 code, what a simple job for a change, 30 mins including jacking car, removing wheel, fitting part and getting car back in the garage, so not all jobs on Vettes are nightmares.
Thanks to those who responded
Mike.
