Default Cam advice

Hello everyone
I'm looking at the g5x3 cam for my ls2 and I was wondering what's everyone's opinion on what j should do and not do while there

I obviously know springs, retainers
maybe
pushrods?
Oil pump?
Timing chain?

Let me know what route i should go.
Thanks in advance

Push rods yes

Oil pump depending on mileage

Timing chain

Timing gear

Retainer plate for cam bolts

If it'll ever possibly be supercharged, pin crank/balancer while you're at it

I wouldn't change the oil pump at that mileage personally

I did a cam job recently and I had 39,000 miles on the clock. I replaced my oil pump, timing chain and balancer pinned just for reference.

use a C5 racing chain, new gear{cheap insurance) I put in a NEW Melling M295 oil pump in for $100 bucks you can't go wrong, while your in there. my pressure went up 5 psi, don't worry about "high pressure or volume" pumps. M295 is just a better pump then stock! the crank gear is a PITA to remove don't worry about it, just the cam gear and a ARP bolt kit for the cam and HB, I also filled the new pump with oil as best as possible before install.

C5R Timing chain
BTR .660 spring kit (titanium retainers)
Pushrods (BTR, Comp, etc.)
ARP cam bolts
ARP balancer bolt
Pin crank (you could also upgrade balancer now)
Timing cover crank seal
Rocker trunion upgrade (very happy with the Straub bushing kit)

Cant go wrong with BTR, they have a "cam" kit that makes it easy http://www.briantooleyracing.com/btr...ation-kit.html

Take a look at their Cams too, call and talk to Chris (good peeps)!
