Guys-
My car is a 2006 C6. It has been sitting for 8 months while undergoing new heads, Cam, ( supporting mods like z06 lifters, patriot gold springs, pushrods etc) and a 2200 blower. I start the car after priming it- no oil pressure. I decided to lower the cross member and pan to find the O ring was pinched! Since I have the melling stock pressure pump, I replace it with the correct ring according to the instructions. Put it all back together- fire it up ...... no way! No oil pressure again!! Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong?
There is no way that style pump is not pumping if the gears are rotating. You must be sucking air on the delivery side. Verify with a mechanical gauge.

How long did you let it run? When you primed it did you remove a valve cover to see if oil was coming out of the pushrods/rockerarms? Need a little more info.

I started it about 4 times. Because it kept dying. On the 5th try it ran for about 10 seconds before I shut it off.
Get a oil primer and prime the whole system. I built a new motor, with new coolers and everything. I got a pressure sprayer from harbor freight, made an adaptor to screw into the oil galley on the driver's side by the front of the block. I was able to get 3 psi of pressure out of it before startup. It took about 3 quarts of oil to get that pressure. It took about 10 minutes to get to that. Your car has been sitting for 8 months so all the oil gallies are dry. You may want to do something like this before you wipe out a bearing.

I made a makeshift primer using a garden sprayer and an AN fitting on the same oil priming plug. I managed to get a few PSI out of that as well. I didn't check to see if it is visible at the top of the motor by removing the valve covers.
