Default Help- no oil pressure

Guys-
My car is a 2006 C6. It has been sitting for 8 months while undergoing new heads, Cam, ( supporting mods like z06 lifters, patriot gold springs, pushrods etc) and a 2200 blower. I start the car after priming it- no oil pressure. I decided to lower the cross member and pan to find the O ring was pinched! Since I have the melling stock pressure pump, I replace it with the correct ring according to the instructions. Put it all back together- fire it up ...... no way! No oil pressure again!! Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong?

What is making you think that you are getting no oil pressure?

The oil pressure gauge inside the car is at 0 psi when the car is running.

Either you have a faulty gage which I'm doubting.

Or your drawing air before the pump loosing vacuum from your prime.

There is no way that style pump is not pumping if the gears are rotating. You must be sucking air on the delivery side. Verify with a mechanical gauge.

Mechanical gage in the plug shown in your priming vid on the side of the block for output.

For input you just make sure you have a good seal from the intake pickup tube with the oring

How long did you let it run? When you primed it did you remove a valve cover to see if oil was coming out of the pushrods/rockerarms? Need a little more info.

I started it about 4 times. Because it kept dying. On the 5th try it ran for about 10 seconds before I shut it off.

Get a oil primer and prime the whole system. I built a new motor, with new coolers and everything. I got a pressure sprayer from harbor freight, made an adaptor to screw into the oil galley on the driver's side by the front of the block. I was able to get 3 psi of pressure out of it before startup. It took about 3 quarts of oil to get that pressure. It took about 10 minutes to get to that. Your car has been sitting for 8 months so all the oil gallies are dry. You may want to do something like this before you wipe out a bearing.

I made a makeshift primer using a garden sprayer and an AN fitting on the same oil priming plug. I managed to get a few PSI out of that as well. I didn't check to see if it is visible at the top of the motor by removing the valve covers.

Can you elaborate? I'm not sure what those are.

Did you verify that the oil pressure sending unit was
1) Plugged in
2) Functional

The sending unit in on the rear of the block behind the intake manifold. Mine went bad a few years back and I had to replace it.
