Default Water in oil help needed!!!

Need some advice please.
Car was running perfect with no issues.
But 2 nights ago i got caught in a flash flood where the water came upto the door sill, i tried to turn round and get ou of it but the car cut out and wouldnt start again. had to abandon and come back next morning. Had to jump start as the batery was completley flat, after 5 mins the car sarted but had a strange knocking sound iv never heard before but car was running OK. home was only 5 mins away so got it home.
Today i checked the oil and i was emulsified so water has come through the air intake (wet) and into the top of the motor, down past the pistons and into the oil pan.
Mechanic says the conrod is probably bent with the water being in the piston bores and needs a full rebuild.
Strange thing is that the nocking just about dissapears with clutch down, but increases with revs.
Tech2 came up with P0340 and P0355 Camshaft sensor issue, but mechanic said that wouldnt cause the knocking sound.
I have dropped the oil out and am putting an engine flush in with cheap oil then dropping that out and then putting Mobil 1 back in with a new oil filter but im worried this might be a bent conrod and needs rebuild.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like classic rod knock to me. You'll need a tear down to see what the issue is, may as well do a rebuild. It doesn't help to just repair the knock issue, ie, replacing the affected bearing plus you don't know if the connecting rods are still straight which means no high rpm runs with this motor. Sounds like your mechanic is on top of it.

Crate LS3 motors are a good deal and less hassle.

I would change trans and diff oils also, with water high enough to enter engine.

Luck

I'd try to find a used pull out engine personally.

Won't really know what's wrong with current engine until you pull it apart

yeah its sounding like iv got a huge problem.....
I live in southern Spain so crate motors are out of the question, they just dont have them here, as with parts as well if i was going to rebuild, there is nowhere that has new parts that i would need so i would have to order everything from the States which is mega expensive in shipping and import duty so well and truly stuffed on this one....

Rods are not that expensive. You may have lunched the crank, and have a machine shop check that.

While its a pain in the butt, as long as you didn't crack the block or liners it wont be that expensive, and a good time to go through and see if anything needs freshened up.
