Just upgraded to wilwood BBK front/rear on base 05. Car will see 5-8 track days in 2017 and driven spiritedly on the weekends. Should I keep DOT 3 in or go to 4? Any suggestions on brand for a car that wont see a ton of HPDE and not a daily driver? Motul? Is the prestone DOT 4 any good/junk?

Many folks out here use Motul RBF 600, especially for your type of usage.
I use it in my vette, it is a daily driver that also sees a track day occassionally.

The higher boiling point of DOT4 or 5.1 will surely be a necessity on the HPDE weekends. For daily use it won't offer any benefits at all.
Depending upon 'when' you plan to do these events..a name brand 3 or 4 should suffice for the time being. You'll want to flush the system within a couple days of your first track event for the maximum value of the 5.1 fluid in the future.
Installing 5.1 at this time with perhaps months before track use will not only provide no real purpose but will diminish the boiling point of that fluid. Over time higher bp fluids, being hygroscopic, will lose their effectiveness faster than a more stable 3 or 4 fluid. For that reason track brakes should be bled (flushed) as close to your event date as possible. Putting in 600f fluid today only to sit for 3-4mo may well lower the effective bp below that of some good DOT4 actually.
When that time comes if you wish to run some Wilwood 570 (DOT 4) or our EXP (DOT 5.1) just let me know. Both are affordable and effective fluids.
Be safe and have fun.
