I recently went from the 18"-19" set up to 19"-20"set up. What if any thing needs to be done to the car for this change, electronics or other programming issues I might run up against?
On any newer Corvette You do have to make a speedo correction IF your tire heigts are altered from stock----otherwise your speedo would be incorrect
NOW if your car has an auto trans---that creates a whole other issue-----As shift points and converter lock/unlock is commanded by speed and throttle position----On an auto trans if the speedo is in correct the car will NOT shift at the correct RPM/MPH and would require a re-tune-------
PS----ALSO very important---------Your ABS braking system is set up to work at max efficiency when the front tire height compared the the rear tire height split remains the same ( for example most new corvettes the rear tires are 1" taller than the fronts)
Now if you alter the front to rear split away from the stock 1" split-----you risk that the ABS braking system will not work correctly and it may cause a dangerous condition at high speed braking----You need to try and retain as close as you can the same "spilt" from front to rear to stock as you can--- in order to be assured your ABS will work correctly
THIS is NOT tuneable------------
My car is an 08 with A6. As you know already the stock wheels are 18-19 front to rear. I put the GM wide body on it and went with 19-20 stagger which will work no problem ( current size on later year cars) as far as fitment and clearances are concerned. But I am wondering about my current tune and if I will need to tweak it some just for the new tires (Michelin PSS RP)?
Thanks

If you went from stock 18/19 tires to stock 19/20 tires you don't need to do anything. The overall diameters are so close that there are no issues. But if you went with non-stock, larger 19/20 tires then you could have some issues but there are lots of guys here who are running larger than stock tires without problems.
Not to stray from the topic a bit, but the ABS has me concerned with my up coming 1/2 mile race. I will be running a 27 1/2" tall rear tire and the stock fronts. The stock rear tire measures barely over 26". I now have almost a 2 1/2" difference between the front and rear tire heights. Should I pull the ABS fuse (if there is such a fuse as a way to disable ABS) to prevent a potential dangerous situation with high speed braking at the end of the run?
