Hey guys, I'm new here. I own an 05 c6 ls2 Corvette. Im hoping to have some light shed on my issue. I replaced my alternator two days ago, i disconnected the ground from my battery while working on my car. After completing the job, my front passenger tpms reads 00. The tire is properly inflated, but my competitive driving mode and my selective ride mode are non functional. Ive researched the web, but havent really found anyone else with a similar problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

my o5 ls2 did the same thing when i reconnected the battery... the front right tpms was reading 0... i test drove it after completing the work i was doing... 40 minutes later it was reading properly..
May take a couple of ignition cycles for the TPMS to catch up after disconnecting the battery. This is normal.
Beware however, how old the TPMS batteries are in your 05. They are hit and miss as far as longevity. Besides a C6 and I also own an 02 C5. The C5 TPMS hasn't missed a lick (knock on wood) but I know plenty that have.
any resolution to this one.. ive found that mine does weird chit when i unplug ....say a dic panel with the car door open and the rear view mirror lights on.....
if i plug the dic panel back in with the rear view mirror lights on...they absolutely will not turn/fade back off...even after multiple starts....i have to have everything plugged in..then doisconnect and reconnect the battery...then the mirrior light function like they should and go out after i close the door and it rearms

it may work itself out
Is been a fe days, no change. I drive about 4 miles to work. Could it be that i need to drive it for a longer distance? Did your selective ride go out too? Feels like im stuck in sport mode. Last time this happenedwas when my mechanic disconnected. Y battery to replace my harmonic balancer. Same thing front passanger tpm was at 0 n my selective ride stopped working. Took it to a dealership, they couldnt figure it out. So i took their tech 2 n got my magnetic ride back up. N reset my tpms woth a magnet. Surely there's another way. I hate going to those guys, i had to fix the problem myself n they still charged me haha

hmm :/ last time I reprogdammed it with a magnet, put the car in learning mode, I took a tech 2 n set my magnetic ride back. I did all this myself while my car was at the dealership. Those guys didnt know what they were doing. They sure charged a pretty penny for all that nuthin! Good ol google helped out. But im hoping i dont have to use a tech 2, that would mean I'd have to go to a shop. Ive driven the car every day since my post, my commute is only 8 miles to and from. Should i drive it for longer? Should i disconnect the battery again? I really dont want to go to those crooks! Thanks for the advice!

That happened to me.
It needs to go through a relearning process. The dealership told me to drive it for about 100-120 miles and it should all come back. If not take it to a chevrolet dealership that is known to specialize in corvette repair.
have you had any resolve with this issue... did the tpms start working again...
you could always try disconnecting the battery for a while then reconnecting...like i was told, it wont cost you anything..
i tried disconecting my battery to see what happens with tpms... when i reconnect... my front right tpms reads zero...
i left the car running.. it took 18 minutes for it to get a tpms reading
then i disconnected/ reconnected... this time it took 3 start cycles over a period of 1 hour (i was driving around doing errands)
when i got back home.. i dusconnected/reconnnected again... same thinng front right tpms read zero.... this time took 3 days almost to get a reading... i counted 12 start cycles over those 3 days
at this point, i decided to stop pissing my car off...because it seems to have a really bad temper..,so i thought id leave well enough alone..it seems really inconsistent on what it takes or the amount of time it takes for it too come back..
i your close to san antonio your welcome to my tech2 if it will help you

Have you tried changing the tire pressure with the car running. Change it at least 12 PSI, either lower or higher, Then set back to the correct tire pressure.
New to this forum and my C6. So before I found this very helpful forum, my DIC came on while on the highway and said flat tire. That's a little nerve racking when you don't have run flats! I rushed out and had a local garage replace my TPMS. Said they had to use an OEM part because the generic TPMS won't work for long or at all. Well 120.00 later it's working again. Will look here first!
Funny, I replaced my hormonic balancer over the new year weekend, and when I connected my battery back up. Zero pressure in the right rear. Of course it doesn't show the TPMS light on the dash, I only noticed it because it won't go to Competition mode.
The next day my battery was dead, so I jumped it and ran it for a long time. Probably about an hour.
The next day it was dead again. It was a 10 year old Redtop, so I figured it finally bit the dust, and since apparently the ones made now are garbage, I just bought a regular flooded battery yesterday.
I figured my weak battery was related to my zero pressure reading, and hoped that it would fix itself after running with the new battery for a while.
Unfortunately, it hasn't, but it's only been a 15 miles drive to work so far. I guess I'll give it some more time, and deflate/inflate with it running when I get home.
I'll have to go back through my paperwork and see when and if I replaced my sensors. I remember having to replace them, but can't remember how many I replaced.
It still did not read on the way home, so I lowered the pressure in the right rear and when I got below 23 PSI, the DIC chimed and said I had low pressure in my left rear.
Looks like the guys at Firestone who installed my RE11s last year swapped my tires.
Might have been why it wasn't reading. Anyway, I lowered the pressure in my left side, and then it picked up the right rear. I filled them back up and now they are all reading pressure. I'll swap them this weekend.
I am actually curious if my fronts are on the correct side now.
