Default NPP Exhaust X-Pipe Question

I have a 2009 with the NPP exhaust and have a question on the x-pipe. At the front of the X-Pipe are those CATs or resonators? If they are CATs I don’t seem to find an O2 sensor after them so how would the computer ever know if you change the X-Pipe out for one W/O CATs?

BTW I have not had the car long and have only been under it once.

Thank You

Rear X pipe cats are not monitored, only the front cats. Your 2009 did not come with cats in the X pipe. Those X pipe cats were added as part of a GM emissions recall. You can remove those two unmonitored X pipe cats and the computer will not know.

Thank you for the information. I have to assume those small CATs strangled some HP out of the car. To that end who makes a good X-Pipe which will connect the front CATs to the stock NPP mufflers? I really like the NPP system now that I have the Mild To Wild controller installed. In addition the system would sound even better when open w/o the extra CATs.

Merry Christmas

Maybe a loss of a few hp, but not really noticeable.

As far as the X pipe, I don't know if GM still stocks the original X pipe without the cats that came with the car or find one used.

Also, check the aftermarket exhaust companies, maybe someone will chime in with a company.
