Check for radiator blockage, check for fan operation (common failure) and check coolant level/condition. Vettes pretty much need the radiator area cleaned/cleared out every 1-2 years. Stuff loves to build up and block all the airflow.
In traffic 200-220 is normal. Mine usually fluctuates between 214-218 in heavy traffic.
thanks for the post // with all the aluminum this temp scares me ive rebuilt to many aluminum heads to feel good about running this c-6 ls2 at that temp /// has any body tried installing the 2 speed manual override control assy sold on the forum parts site ??? if so any comments will be appreciated /// etsvet 2016 out

I wouldn't worry about melting the engine. Mine's run that hot for 11 years and 135K miles.
I've read thousands of posts over the years from members whose cars run as hot as mine and almost as many posts who insist it's abnormal. There seems to be a large variability in running temperature and I'm not sure exactly what accounts for it.
