manual shift problem
I have a problem.
I separated minus cable on the battery because I don't drive during winter season.
After a month, I connected minus cable again and started on.
But I can't shift manual transmission right after start on.
I found that about fifteen minutes later from start on(when the oil temperature on the trip monior over 60 degree) , shift is working normally.
After that day, I always can shift transmission manual when oil temperature over 60 degree on the trip monitor even I didn't separate minus cable on the battery.
And there is no problem to drive after oil temp over 60 degree.
Is there any relation between gear shift and battery cable separation?
I can't understand..
First, I changed clutch fluid myself, it was not a solution.
Dealershop said the solution is replacement of clutch set if there is no damage of master sylinder.
Could you recommend anything to solve this problem without replacing the clutch set?
Thanks for reading.
1.
it wont go into reverse...
2.it wont come out of reverse...
3.it wont go into first..
4. does it grind when your trying to shift... ..
5. does it feel notchy or a little harder to shift through the gears only when the transmission is cold...mine feels a little harder to shift when the weather is a bit colder till the transmission oil warms up
after having my battery disconnected many many times..i have never had a shifting problem... the only problem i had was getting my transmission to go into reverse to shut the acc mode down...
make sure your battery is fully charged and have it tested...
what year is your c6,,,the 2005 has a skip shift ...if your battery is not fully charged or weak, its possible for that skip shift solenoid circuit to malfunction,,,make sure your battery cable/clamp connectors and ground wires are tight and free of corrosion..90 percent of the electrical problems i had on my 2005 were ground connections and corrosion and loose cable connections
is there any oil leaking from the bell housing just behind the engine(on the floor under the car)..the slave cylinder could have gone bad.
you miht need to bleed air from the clutch line...but if you have air in the line then that means either your master or slave cylinder is leaking..and need to be replaced
if your clutch isnt slipping under power then its not the clutch
do you have any DTCs set,,trouble codes
check your battery boss
