Default C6 Base Corvette widened wheels

I have read the threads on widened wheels. To run a 305 series tire with a 11" wide wheel, what is the offset to keep the tire/wheel combo tucked in the fender well without rubbing or having to modify the inner well?

Use OEM 18x8.5 56 offset front wheels and send to weld craft to have widened. The wheel will stick out about 3/16 more than your stock rears, which is basically how your rears sit now.

the 305/35 x 19 fits the stock 10" rear rim with no issues or did you purchase 11" rims

I want to buy 11" rear rims so that the tire will open up a little for that wider stance and look. I hear people widening them by putting 1" width just on the inside of an original wheel, but will the original 79mm offset work without rubbing the fender well?
If I buy an new 19x11" wheel, what will the offset need to be on those so I don't rub inside or stick outside the fender well?

your making it more difficult on yourself than it needs to be.most that have the stock wheels widened are using the front 18x 8 1/2 with 56mm offset.there are aftermarket 19"wheels that are wider that fit.they may be called "Ace" if I recall correctly.have never heard of anyone widening the stock rears.probably a reason for that

www.corvettegarage.com
They use to be a forum vendor and sell the 11x19 wheels with the correct offset.
Good luck

Google 'wheel offset calculator' and plug in the #s.
Imo, anything that sticks out more than .625 over stock looks like crap. I will go with widened stockers for that reason and more sidewall

I guess the bottom line is will a 19x11 with a 79mm offset support a 305 tire without rubbing the inner fender well?

I used this thing called a wheel offset calculator ....and your new wheel will stick out 13mm and extend inward 13mm more than a stock 19x10 wheel.
I know a 305/35-19 NT05r will rub the fender liner on a stock wheel. If lowered at all.

So, if I used a 19x11 and a 73mm offset, would that work?
What wheel calculator do you use?

I used the front 18" wheels widened to 10.5" and run 305 35 18 tires on the rear and they just barely clear the control arms but don't rub. I also tried the rear 19" wheels widened to 10.5" and run 305 30 19 tires and they also clear the control arms and don't rub. A 305 30 19 tire needs a min wheel width of 10.5". I added the width to the inside of the wheel so .5" is most to add to inside. If you want 11" wheels, if they are .5" wider on inside and outside you should be ok.

OK, tell me what you think about this. I have a guy selling 19X12 (widened 2" to the inside) stock C6 five star wheels (79mm offset) with 345/30/19 NITTO INVO tires (13.35" wide). Will they fit my stock Corvette C6 base? If not, can I use a 1/4" spacer to make them fit?

what year are the wheels?the 05 to 08 5 spoke widened to 11'' for the rear if I recall correctly are the widest that fit and even at that they contact the control arms when car is jacked up for any reason.I would want to try them on the car before buying them.If your seller is not local you may end up with wheels that don't fit.I would have to see it to believe a 345 tire would fit on a narrow body C6.the wheel most commonly used is the front 18 x 8 1/2 widened to put on rear

Thanks IROK, he is an out of town seller and I wanted to get some input. I will not buy. I just want the widest tire possible tucked in the fender and whichever wheel that will accommodate. thanks again!

12" with 2" added to inside of oem wheel is too wide. I added .5" to the inside of oem wheel and any more than that would hit control arm and tire would rub. 11" with 79 mm offset is widest you can do. That is extra .5" inside and .5" outside from oem wheel. You could add 1" to inside of oem wheel and use a .5" spacer.

I have a WIDE R888 345/30x19 tire on a 19x12 with 10.5" backspacing on an '08 base, but it's on a Lingenfelter mini-tub. However, upper A arm clearance isn't the limiting factor. Also, my rear wheels are inset too much w/ the -1.3 camber I run, if I had my druthers the offset would move them out about a 1/4" (6 mm) to be ideal.

The control arm clearance is an issue when suspension is unloaded. This can be when the car is on jacks or air born. I use mine on race tracks and there are a few parts of a few tracks where my suspension unloads as I am almost air born. The possibility of a wheel touching the control arm at high speed is scary. I have 1.5 degrees negative camber on rear wheels and an oem rear wheel with any more than .5" added to inside would hit control arm with suspension unloaded.
