Driver's door won't close

Driver's door won't close
When I open my driver's door and leave it open just for a short time, then get back in the car and try to close it , it won't close unless I open the window and reach outside to the door handle and then I hear it release the locking mechanism in the door then the door will lock when closed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Alan

It will reindex the windows so that they lower properly to allow for shutting.
