Default Hooker Blackheart headers?

Looking to get into the exhaust game and was wondering if anyone has any current experience with the new Hooker blackheart headers that were on the market? I've read up on all of the major players in the header game but was wondering if these might be a good alternative! Thanks for the info!

I've done a fair amount of reading on them, and I believe they are a nice product at a fair price. Haven't pulled the plug yet, but I do like them. I also like their axle-back muffler system.

I'm in the same situation.was curious how the axle back handles the drone. It seems that only corsas are drone free so was hoping these would be also!

If you have factory manifolds then you have a choice for drone free.

Borla or Corsa, I had Corsa extremes which are far from extreme with factory manifolds. Removed after two weeks, too quite for my taste, but no drone.

ATAKS have very minor drone, sound worlds more aggressive than Corsa.

The S type II would be drone free and sound close to the extremes but deeper.

Thing is that people have different taste in sounds, it would be best to go to a get together and try to hear some for yourself.

Pick wisely since you need to live with your choice, or dump some more coin to change it again.

The right exhaust will put a smile on your face every time you hit that start button

if your keeping you car a while 304 series stainless headers are the only choice. had several ceramic coated ones + they all peeled in Pa weather, drivers not garage queens. same with exhaust had a 304 borla system for 10 years thru all weather, 200,000 miles driving to work, no rust + pipes still pulled apart easily, expensive but worth it IMO

I have made two purchases of their Blackheart products.

Both times I have had to wait and then had the ship date pushed out again. It's quite annoying to purchase something that says it is going to ship at a certain date and it goes by without an update.

The first product was well worth the price, (Axle back without mufflers)

The other (Shorty headers) I haven't received yet. Summit was nice enough to let me know that it might ship the beginning of next month, we'll see.

As for ceramic coating, I have had very good luck with Sanderson out of San Fran.

I just got a great deal on a complete exhaust (manifold to muffler) from a zo6. I'll try that for a bit until I figure out which direction I really want to go.

What year mufflers? The pre 2011 Z06 mufflers without the mod are pretty mild.

I just purchased the Blackheart exhaust and I love them. There is a bit of drone (really just louder, sweet exhaust note in my opinion) between 2,000 and 3,000 RPM's. Shifting early helps, but I really do like the sound at WOT. I would say it is louder than my Corsa Sports by a long shot, especially after 2,000 on the tach. I have a 2012 manual vert and it sounds amazing with the top down and it's actually very quiet at cruising speeds. Not sure where you live, but I'm in NC and would be happy to meet up so you can hear it. That's really the only way to know for sure if you are going to like it. Good luck!

had HPC + JetHot + generic coated headers none lasted thru Pa weather on a daily driver. put a set of Sanderson cast headers on my 56 belair, paid xtra for the coating HPC i believe, they peeled as well + rarely ever seen any weather. different climates make a difference for sure, like Arizona prolly no rust there!

just looked up the hooker blackheart systems, 304 stainless the good stuff + beside its rust proofness 304 stainless without coating keeps over twice the heat in the pipe aiding velocity + cooler engine compartment temps. one of the perks having a higher end performance car is manufactures make the good stuff for it

Default More info coming

I just ordered a set ofthe blackheart 1 7/8 longtubes the catless X and exhaust with mufflers and resonators. Once I receive them I planned on doing before and after videos and dynos so I have some data to contribute. Granted I'm at altitude and won't be tuning until after the cam goes in as well, it's still something

My thought process behind the purchase being these are the cheapest headers with an appropriate length collector and merge spike plus the whole exhaust is supposedly 3in without neckdowns.
The resonators may or may not be just a gimmick but given the price of most exhausts its not that big of a gamble.

Interested in how long it takes to get your order, and how flat the flanges are that interface with the heads.

Purchased my hooker black heart shorty headers during Holly's "Holly days" Xmas sale. Order took exactly six weeks to arrive. The fit was a perfect bolt up to heads and cats. The quality is exceptional.

Exhaust got in today, however due to an issue with the vendor I purchased from, it's the wrong part number so it's headed back to holley. I was shipped the exhaust that connects to stock manifolds or shorties.

My cam also came in so now I'm really antsy to get everything installed.

How the headers look after 3 months. Also added the holly valve covers.

With the ported FAST, black hearts and Corsa extremes, my LS2 sounds wicked!
