My drivers side door mirror will not adjust from using the inside switch. When moving the mirror glass with my hand it will not stay in place. Do I need to purchase a new mirror or can mine be repaired? I am thinking it is not the inside door switch as the glass will not stay in place on the mirror itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you may need a new mirror, the mechanism or motor may be bad.
You can remove the glass, carefully, by tilting it down and gently but firmly pry out from the top. It attaches to the mechanism with 3 plastic pins. Then you can visually check the mechanism and motor to see what's happening.
If you need to replace the mirror housing, here's a tutorial. Your wires and / or connector may be different than shown but the process is the same.
