Hey guys has anyone here on the forum done a write up for engine/trans mounts install with torque specs? I have the mounts ready to go, just need the torque specs to pull the trigger.....
I would think that since they use the stock nuts, the torque specs would be the same as factory. I don't have those to hand, but would guess it's somewhere in the 35-45 ft. lb. range. I'll see if I can find the torque specs in the FSM later and post them up.
I have a set of the 3/8" shorter engine and trans mounts from Hinson as well that I'm going to install at some stage. The only daunting thing is that you have to drop both the front and rear cradle down quite a bit to get them in, since they have studs on both ends.
EDIT: just looked at the Magnuson install manual and it gives the Engine Mounts torque specs as being 60 ft. lbs. I have little doubt the trans mounts are the same.
Thanks man, the trans subframe does have to go. I was looking into removing the brakets that go from the engine to the mount and wiggling the mounts out. It seems like i cant do that because the engine cooler lines are in front of on one bolt (driver's side Z51). I'll try and see if i can get in there with a specialty wrench or something but its looking like i need to drop the front subframe too.
