Temperature controls are flashing on display

If you are talking about the HVAC unit below the radio, a flashing display is usually just the first sign of a dying unit. You can replace before it fails completely or wait until it does fail. One problem is, if you wait, will your dealer have a replacement in stock or will you have to wait a week or more and have to live without A/C while they order the new unit?
New ones are "about" or "in the range of" $400 - $450. New and used units can be found on ebay or the Parts For Sale section here from about $200. Most owners who have some mechanical ability can replace it themselves.

Mine did that 5 years ago this month. I did a 24 hour battery disconnect and it hasn't had a problem since then. I'm certainly not saying that's a cure, but it sure won't hurt to try it.

I had mine go out last September on my 13 GS. We were 1,000 miles from home. On the return trip it started working once and thankfully it was out again when I took it to the dealer. It was replaced under 3/36 warranty with 3 months left on the warranty.

Same thing. Died completely shortly after.
Found a used one on here, been fine for ~2 years now. Fairly common issue.

The purpose of my reply is to say it's not a great big deal, just more of an annoyance until the unit finally dies.
