Default 2005 c6. Steering Colum Lock

i know this is old new but would like some feedback and support please
i have had this ongoing for 3 years. Dealer has replaced module and some othe part a few times. My battery dies I've had to replace 5 batteries this last time I'm just over it and beside myself
6 months ago my battery of one year died had car towed. New upgraded (as I always get) . 3 months later again dead car. Got the colum steering lock msg a few days prior to dead battery but after a few tries car started .
another new batter. No reading on the computer . This past Sunday 3-1/2 weeks after new battery again I get the service steeringcum lock. Car dead. Monday I planned to get it towed. I tried to start it. Dead. I waited than it started took it to dealer. Needless to say I was an am beyond furrioius
i talked to manager and told him do not pull the old car pitch. My car has been in pristine condition. I do everything by the book. More than need probably. I do not ever abuse my car etc etc. his reply
its intermittent and if they cannot repeat the problem. How can they fix it. I said I don't want it back until you fix it. Call gym engineer call someone. He said they don't have support for cars past 5 years. Am I suppose to junk my car on the side of the road. This is insane. I'm scared to drive anywhere for fear of being stranded. The pleasure and love for my Vette is gone and I'm just at s loss
im embarrassed to say how much money I've spent even with my extended warrenty. I feel somewhat taken advantage of
please, does anyone know who st Gzm I can talk with in order to solve my problem for good. All I want is the problem fixed. Not a bypass option. I don't want to void my warrenty
thank you

You may only have 2 options, keep replacing the column lock and having problems , or get yourself the column lock bypass and be done with it.... I put a column lock bypass on my 2005 almost 2 years ago and my column lock wasn't even bad.. I installed it knowing it would eventually go bad and didn't want to be left stranded.. I guess you would call it "preventive maintainence" .... I consider that one of my smarter moves......WW

Yeah, I had similar issues and they replaced sensors but it kept failing to start. I'm positive it wasn't the battery so I installed the column lock eliminator and it's started fine every time since.

Clearly it's the column lock. Bypass it and you should be good to go!

I have an 05 M6 Z51 and even the dealer suggested the bypass, replaced the body control module and once they were installed most, and I mean must, of the issues stopped.

I still, once in a blue moon, would go out to the car and it was dead...I removed the OnStar fuse (as I don't use it anyways) and that seemed to have helped.

PS: After they replaced the BCM without the bypass - the only way they could get the car to start was to program it as an automatic (it's a manual) until I installed the bypass and took it back. They reprogrammed it back as a manual and all was good!

These cars electrical systems are very sensitive

Good luck!!!!

I will be installing a column lock bypass tomorrow on my 2005 C6. I've have not been having issues but don't want to risk getting stranded.

Without any problems also, I installed bypass about two years ago and haven't as yet had this problem rear it's ugly head.

05 c6 manual. installed column lock bypass. now experiencing same problem. new battery. but think it is draining while running ...or not. usually fixable with 24 hr. battery disconnect. this time it locked me out, and when in will do nothing. no info in dic and no start. still wont unlock even with fob.
