Looking to refresh my motor .It's a 2012 dry sump ls3 in a 2012 Grand sport what would most of you do.Possibly doing a supercharger in the distant future.
When you say refresh, are you looking to pull it out and rebuild or just add to it to give it more power? How many miles are currently on it? What are the main goals (drag, street)? Any current mods?

Car has 123,000 it's been well maintained never tracked and no desire to just wanting to do a freshening up was wondering about heads valve seals springs retainers and such that might be wearing down with this many miles.Car doesn't use any oil and is solid just wondering about preventive maintenance
I would imagine that you would find your valve springs to be a bit light. I would replace those and the valve seals while you are at it.
You can send out an oil sample to get an idea if there is something wearing of failing inside your engine.
Probably a good time to change the coolant, plugs, air cleaner, cabin filters, and wires. It certainly cannot hurt to change trans and rear diff fluid as well.
I've done a lot of those things filters, plugs, wires, coolant been flushed and tranny and differential were just done so guess I've got a decent start on things
Heads just came off of mine at 200K, somewhere around 50K with a supercharger, guides are fine, valve are fine, replaced seals when I did springs but didn't burn any oil before that
I just just don't think I'd bother until there's a need personally. I'm not saying don't do maintenance on it, but no need to get into pulling the motor apart or anything like that. Mine had basically no lip at the top of the cylinders, pistons were fairly clean and what was on there came off pretty easy. I was pretty amazed.

I agree. I have over 80k on my 2011 GS, it gets hammered daily, and still runs as good as when I bought it new. Headers and a tune since 50k miles. Just normal maintenance - fluids, belts, filters, tires, brakes, etc.

No sense in doing this just for "maintenance". If you were going to pull the motor or heads or whatever to do anything, I recommend upgrades. You will probably end up spending the same amount of time and money. If the idea is to just enjoy the ride, then keep it clean and filled up with gas.
