2006 base, no start

On the stick, you need to have the clutch pedal pressed all the way in and down.
Short of a loose or corroded connector on the battery lugs, loose connector on the engine fuse box terminal (or bad fuse or relay in the engine fuse box), loose starter to flywheel housing to cause a ground problem there, or a loose battery wire to starter solenoid terminal/the terminal on the solenoid cracking off/the ground to the engine block loose, then would need a Tech II to go through the electrical switches to make short work of the needed repairs/what is not happening in the electronics to allow the car to start.

One last thing ,and if the battery was dead, and you jumped the car, disconnect the battery, charge it back up, then reconnect the charged battery to the car. When the battery goes low, and you jump the car, it can freak out the system to cause problems, and disconnecting the fully charged battery for a few mins allows the system to reset it self.
