Default Transmission swap question

Hello everyone,

Im preparing for a A4 to M6 swap and started collecting the parts.

There are many topics and tons of documents about the swap however I wasnt able to find the answer to: Do I have to swap the differential or not. Some says yes some says no. And im a little short on the budget so every penny matters

Car is 2005 with 3.15 gears. But I have 3.42s laying in the garage somewhere.

Thanks!

And one more question are there any differences between z06 and manual c6s torque tubes?

Comment; seems it would or could be easier to swap out the car rather than doing all that work. Why are you doing this, just curious..

Well thats a long stort actually Because of my job I have to stay 9 months of the year at Turkey, Istanbul. And only 3 months back in houston. I have a 06 Z06 back in US but most of the year I live with my C6. There are only 43 C6 Corvettes in the whole country. Because the tax system charges you by your vechiles displacement. They imported very few. 1 ZR1 very few Z06s (4 maybe 5) and rest are base C6s. There are like 6-7 ish manuals and all the ones I know has a dirty history. Very high miled and tired cars and even very few are on sale

I got my car few years back It was a base a4 2005 C6 from the 2nd owner low miled weekend drive. My intentions was to keep it stock but you know how this goes Now it has LS3 with milled and ported heads, cam, fast102 intake and tb, headers, npps, intake, z06 brakes, grandsport body, all new interior and console, HRE wheels, 2 trans 1 engine oil cooler bla bla...

I did %90 the list by myself down in the garage. Except the painting and machinery parts like porting etc. I feel very connected to the car know every bolt of it.

Selling the car trashing all the hours ive spent and buying a new one starting all over again pufff

Swapping the trans is piece of cake compared to this

All this may sound idiotic but......

Regards

I kind of figured you had a lot into the car, makes perfect sense.
Good luck with the transformation.
