Default Check engine light after manifold install

I installed a Fast 102 intake Manifold and my check engine light came on. Comes on and off. Anyone know what can be causing this or is it normal ?

Pull the code and we can tell you. It is likely from the changes, yes.

I should do it soon. I've drivin around with it for about 1,500 miles now. It comes on and stays on I'm heavy on the gas and will turn off if I cruise on the highway for a good while at 65mph on cruise control.

just wanted to know if this is expected after this mod or if I did something wrong lol

I would get it checked out soon, if there is a manifold leak or something that could cause a lean condition in one or more cylinders it could do some damage to that cylinder. maybe nothing major but it should be easy enough to get it scanned, most auto parts retailers will do it for free. You can probably fond someone local with a scanner, heck I bought one now that I have broken down and bought a few OBD2 vehicles, they are cheap and really handy when those lights come on.

no its not expected.you have an issue.usually a vacumn leak or issue with map sensor.check with scan tool for codes to see if you may have disturbed something else during the install

When I pulled my intake manifold, I had two fuel injectors leaking. One was pretty damn bad too. Computer didn't throw a code. So I would pop the covers off and take a good look at all the injectors and their connections.

Absolutely not normal .... mine has been on for over a year now , pull the code, you can go to any auto parts store and have them do it as it will be stored in History ...

It could be a number of things like you rolled one of the intake gaskets , or one of the many electrical connections are not snapped in tight , or as someone stated above it's easy to roll one of the O rings on the injectors.... I could go on and on

pull the code and post it here , at least we will have a starting place to try and help you out

or pull the manifold and reinstall , taking your time to make sure you put everything back on correctly

let us know what you find
