All base C6 manuals use the 27 spline output shaft.
Use your C6 shift rod.
Wire the extra plug on the 05 to the existing plug on C5 trans.
2005 is a one year dual plug on trans

I guess I need to use the C6 housing right?
And C5s and base 05 C6 manuals are using the same output shaft right?

No 2005 C6 is the only year C6 that can connect to the C5 diff. No tail housing needed.
