Hello,
I have modified the LS9 but I have one problem:
after increasing the air intake and replacing the NW102, after one lap on the circuit I dropped the engine into emergency mode.
Someone can help me?
I put the OEM flap back and the engine runs normally, only the HP missing
I have a car in Europe!
There is probably a code set to help diagnose what went wrong. There are code readers available but the most comprehensive seems to be a copy (clone) Tech II, lots of threads about getting one and its use.
OP, you might find this interesting, it could be the TB itself, this person is selling his, I only off this as a troubleshooting suggestion and as proof others have had issues with them.
"I am selling a LS2 throttle body which has worked fine in my C5 corvette 99% of the time for the past 2 years. I was occasionally receiving the reduced engine power errors and the car would go into limp-mode which was usually remedied by restarting the vehicle. A tuner drilled a small hole in the throttle plate which I recently filled with JB kwik per SpinMonster's tutorial: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...tb-plates.html
After filling the hole I began to receive the error more frequently and decided to replace the throttle body with a new one out of frustration.
To make a long story short. I don't know if the TPS within this throttle body is actually malfunctioning or it is a problem with my tune/ conversion harness, etc. I am selling this throttle body, with a filled-hole as-is and asking $40 shipped.
Sense OP didn't get back will assume is the Nick Williams t/body inducing reduce performance the reason he's calling for help so here we go...
These drive by wire tb have internal metal wire sensors which are thinner than a human hair design to sense blade to body contact.
When engine is in running temps the denser metal of the t/blade will expand more than the aluminum body any minor contact between tb and blade detected will trigger reduce performance mode.
The fix is easy (don't drop the tb) remove it and place it on top of a folded towel on a table seat down and take your time, loosen all 3 screws and carefully center the blade same distance by sight run in the screws and verify, paper may aid to center blade.
I take 2/3 thous of the leading edges with a sand paper to buy extra clearance tho it may not be necessary.
I have purchased two NW 102mm tb and had same reduce performance prob with both but never again after centering the blade properly.
Same fix will work on a OEM tb that blade has been removed.
