i am looking at buying a 09 Z but have been told the heads are ok. Is that true or should it be a concern

Always a concern unless they've actually been inspected. I suggest you go over the the C6 Z06 Forum and talk to those guys. I think they put a Sticky on top of that Forum too with a lot of basic info. Good luck.
