Default Interior lighting fixes & upgrades

My interior lights haven't worked since I bought the car back in June. No biggie, it's daylight most of the time anyway and we had other things to work on.

Decided to upgrade to LEDs while I was at it so ordered some 194s in blue for the footwell, super bright white 194s for the mirror/map lights and some bright whites for the hatch area.

Tested the hatch lights and no power anywhere so went fuse hunting. I learned about the inside fuse panel doing this as even after the third time going through the engine fuse panel there weren't any interior lighting fuses

Swapped out the blown 10a fuse for a good one and now I have some working lights!

Just did the LED upgrade this afternoon. The blue footwell light on the passenger side was kind of a PITA but the driver side was easy. Map lights were easy as I had the mirror off to get the old bulbs out. Hatch area was easy too. Put the first one in upside down the first time

Anyway, I know but it's not dark yet. I'll grab some on my way to work in the morning & add them to the post mañana.

I found the fuse panel info using a google search on the forum:

Swapping to leds was one of my favorite aesthetic mods. That and getting rid of the factory nav really made the car feel more modern.

It's refreshing to see someone searching before posting!

The map lights are really bright & I kind of like the subdued color the blue lights do to the foot wells

The blue in the foot wells was a fantastic idea. Wow that looks good!

Thanks! I really like how it turned out. Bought a 10 pack so I've got spares for life and they're cheap to swap out if I ever decide to go back to white.

Where did you get the hatch bulbs? I replaced all my interior bulbs with LEDs too, but your hatch bulbs look brighter. Looks good!

What did you run your footwell lights to so they turn on only at night? Or do they stay on all the time after you get in the car?

I just popped out the existing incandescent bulbs & put the LEDs in their place. They turn off with the map/mirror lights once I start the car.

Are you wanting to drive while they are on?

Did you buy LED bulbs though or was it something custom you did? I have LED bulbs for mine, but they don't seem to be as bright as yours.

A few years ago I would have been rolling my own lights but there are plenty of vendors selling them now. I ordered them all from Amazon.

I ended up with a 10 pack of the blue 194s. If anybody wants a pair I'll ship out a pair to the first 3 people who want them

Funky rear hatch & hood LEDs:

Noticed yesterday putting on new wiper blades that my engine compartment light doesn't work. Going to check the fuse on it and swap out another LED up there too. It's the same funky bulb the hatch uses.
