Default corvette not starting

2009 competition sport Z06 corvette. I have a new battery I purchased in Dec. I used a battery tender on it until my husband passed and then I started to drive it March. I can't start it unless I charge the battery. I drive it and then the next day it won't start. I was told to reset my windows thinking that's where the drain was. Replaced batteries in Fob removed anything around that might drain battery. Fob worked to open trunk, but not door. How many times can the battery run down before it goes bad. Do I have to put on a tender every time I park it and not drive it for a few days. My 05, 10 and 12 never gave me a problem. Got any advice I believe I'm jinxed. Taking it in for an exhaust recall, but wanted pointers on other electrical issues so I didn't sound to dumb or get taken for a ride from the dealer even if he is a family friend.

The short answer is that you probably have an amp draw when the key is off. There is good info on the site about likely causes of that. A dealer will have a meter that will help find the draw more quickly than you could & shouldn't get too crazy.

Battery charger info: If you have a battery rated @ 6-700 CCA and it is discharged below 12v (Dead) it will take 13-16 hours to charge at a rate of 5a (the low setting on your charger) or 6-8 hours on 10a setting.

What brand and spec battery was put into the car??

You may need to have the shop conduct a battery current draw test. When the car is shut down after a short period of time, it goes into SLEEP/SECURITY MODE

In that mode the BCM sheds all non essential loads and the electrical system only draws 20-25 milliamps from the battery. IF, something in the car is staying on, the amp hour draw will be excessive and the battery will go dead in a relatively short period of time.

To conduct that test, they disconnect the battery NEGATIVE Cable and insert a DC AMP METER in SERIES with the cable and the battery terminal.

Examine the car in the DARK and see if there is anything that is remaining ON that should not be.

That small of a current draw SHOULD allow the car to sit in excess of 30 days and still be able to crank and start the engine.

The battery that you select needs to have the correct 120 amp/hours of RESERVE CAPICITY to make that happen.

RECOMMENDATION.. Fully charge the battery. Once its fully charged, head on down to a local auto parts store that can fully test the battery and charging system.

They should load test the battery and that will tell you a LOT about its health.

NOTE! The OWNERS MANUAL states. If you intend to store the car for an extended period of time (in excess of 30 days) disconnect and remove the battery. That would be like a winter storage period.

My 02 ZO6 and 11 Grand Sport sit a good bit over the winter but I don't take them off road. I charge the battery every so often so I can drive them on nice winter days.

Bill
