MY 13 GS was in the body shop about a year ago to replace the drivers side fender that was damaged in a parking lot incident (somebody hit me while the car was parked). While washing it a couple weeks ago I noticed the headlight assembly was very loose. I discovered that the 3 nuts holding the headlight assembly to the substructure were MISSING!
I ordered 3 new nuts from the local dealer and just picked them up. The captured washer appears to be TOO SMALL and if I try to use them they will likely go right through each of the 3 large holes in the substructure, so they wont secure the headlight. I looked at the blow up of the parts schematic before I left the dealer and they did order the correct part #. The part they gave me is 1158-8331. These nuts happen to be the same size as the other nuts I removed that hold the bumper cover to the fender, right in front of the front wheel. is this the correct part number? I know the headlight nuts and the fender nuts have a different diameter captured washer, the headlight one being larger. How do I get the right part? I would think getting parts for a 4 year old car wouldn't be this difficult! damn you GM!
