did you talk with George at MGW? I have one of the first 35% MGW's and there wasn't and isn't a lower box. Zip corvette has Poly replacement for the rubber washers

Should be able to buy the lower box alone, since at one time, the upper shifter and lower box where sold separately.

But having said that, if you know someone with a lathe, it not hard to rebuild the OEM lower box isntead. The old front and back bushing are pressed out, the main rod is polished to remove any wear, and new replacement Ptfe are lathed to match the new OD of the shaft and channels in the housing for them to be pressed back in.

Hence the problem with either the a New MGW shifter box, or you old shifter box, is that you will be reusing the main rod from the old shifter box, and until it polished out to remove any where, you really don't have a clue on what side Bushings you need to fit is correctly instead.

Plus with the OEM box that is lower cavity sealed, less chances of getting debris into the lower box parts to cause faster wear isntead.

I have read in the past that the old gen shifter cannot use the new billet lower box. You could upgrade the entire unit or you could just upgrade your lower box bushings.

I was able to buy the lower box alone (albeit in 2014). At the time, if you had an MGW that has the set screws on the shifter bolts they were willing to sell it alone.

I tired and was told no. Landed up selling my old MGW and buying new one with box. Difference is basically nothing and it wasn't worth it. If you are going from an old worn out box to a billet box it may be huge, but if your current box is in good shape, they work great. New GM boxes are cheap. I put a new one in when I did the original shifter.
