Default E85 tune

hey guys I currently have intake and x pipe. Was wondering if it's worth to go with E85 and tune. Not installing headers or anything else. Or it's not worth the upgrade? Thanks for any input

The ECM already has flex fuel tables, so what you need to do first off, if to install the flex fuel sensor into the fuel line so the tables can be turned on and used in the tuning.

From here, the car is tuned using the Flex fuel tables as well, and if you do need to run the car on standard petrol, or the E rating is lower in the fuel from the pump fuel your using, the senor picks this up, and the car runs correctly as well.

As for X pipe and new intake, not enough difference on petrol, so the car itself will compensate for the changes. By adding the flex fuel sensor so you can run E85, will pick up some power on that fuel.

When you install headers and just running petrol to start with , the long tube headers will scavenge exhaust a great deal more, and although the ECM will compete for such during close loop mode, when you go to WOT/ the car is running on all tune since it's goes to open loop, this is where the motor will be running too lean instead.

As for the down side to E85, you will burn about 30% more of it per mile, then you will of petrol instead.

That car already burns crazy amount of fuel lol. Can't even imagine on E85. Thanks for the input guys. I may just hold off and do all at once. Headers, pulley, etc.

Not sure why you don't want headers IMO you should reconsider, regardless of what you end up doing here's what I did when I first got my auto '11 GS;

Vararam cold air intake ported the throttle body and the intake manifold because intake was out I took the opportunity to match port the heads intake runners and just filled tanks with E85 and tuned it.

With absolutely no other mods the dyno revealed 404 whp and 397 tq, now the engine was running out of breath at 5500 rpms due to restriction of factory exhaust manifolds so adjusted shift points to 5500 the tuner told me the car's running amazing he was darn rite, do recommend this.

2 hours would be fair, but if they don't work on C6s everyday then maybe 3-4.
