ok guys. I have a 2008 C6 with the LS3. It has American racing headers and X pipe and a k&n intake. Say I have $8,000 to spend on performance and I dont want to lose the drivability of taking it on long trips. Im not a fan of the choppy cam sound. What would you do with the 8k to make it “go fast” thanks guys

Since you’re not a fan of lopey cams, you can grab a base ECS or A&A blower kit for around $5k and retain stock-like drivability until you mash the pedal. If you aren’t going to install the kit yourself, expect to drop the extra $2-3k on the install/tune. If you’re the DIY-type, pay for a good dyno/street tune and use the rest for sticky tires.
There are tons of routes/combinations to choose from if you want to stay NA as well. If going with a cam, just ask your builder/tuner to spec a cam to your liking with regards to lope, power delivery, etc. Once you start adding heads, axleback exhausts, intake manifolds, etc. (admittedly not all necessary)... the cost-to-power ratio will tilt significantly towards a blower though.

Burning Brakes
Very often, "go fast" here points to a blower for straight-line speed, as others have mentioned.
What are the roads like in your neck of the woods though?
A blower won't help you quickly navigate winding roads as much as better tires, wheels, suspension and brakes will.
Just a thought.
