Default Help-Halltech installation question-rubber seal?

Paid over $500 for this CAI and Halltech sends it out with no instructions. On their website there is no detail. Kit comes with 24” sealing rubber location install. Anyone help me with that? Thank you! 427 vert

If you can post a pic of the piece in question, I can probably help you out.

Found the answer here:

It is supposed to cover the bumper screws on top of the "beehive." I think it may be for water displacement (blocking / moving water off to the sides) too, but I'm not sure.

Took car for test drive and notice something different. It appears there is
Some surging Fifth gear 1500 rpm. Hopefully my tune will take of that and or maybe the computer is learning the different air intake. Any opinions??
Thanks!

Possibly an air leak. Make sure the clamps/connections are tight. I believe Halltech recommends re-tightening the clamps after the intake has been heat cycled, because the bridge mold will have some slight shrinkage. Mine needed re-tightening at the TB coupler. Also, check that your radiator shroud doesn't have any gaps down at the bottom that allow air to come in straight at the air filter. This can cause surging even on cars with the OE intake.

Here's an example of a shroud that's not affixed properly....sometimes the push pins are missing. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1579050614

i have a slow ls3 and had a propped shroud before i put on the halltech left the shroud propped a little because hey more cool air right? immediately noticed surging on the freeway. closed everything back up and had no problems so id agree most likely a air leak turbulence hitting the maf.

Interesting thank you. My idle is normal 650rpm warm. If I had air leak before the maf it would really would effect the idle. Just not convinced yet of air leak, but with my limited knowledge, could be. Getting a dyno tune next week and he should be able to read fuel mixture. I rechecked the boot connections between maf and Tb and they were ok. I’ll double check tomorrow again. Thanks for your input!!

right,
in my case with air coming in the shroud and the maf moved( halltech extends it behind the cover/beehive thing) it only seemed to be enough and bad enough while on the free way. well good luck i had headers and tune before i added the intake but again slow street tune. my tuner did mention he had to adjust my fuel trims by 6% when i took it to him for a adjustment. good luck to you sir
