Default Bolt On Modifications for C6

I am looking for people's advice on mods for my 13 GS Coupe.

When I put headers (and true dual exhaust) on my C3 I was very pleased with the performance results. However, the extra heat burned through a spark plug wire.

I am thinking of adding headers to my C6 and maybe cold air intake. If I am going to do headers I likely will want to get shielded wiring. If I am going to do that should I install a performance ignition system, too?

Thoughts on headers?

Thanks in advance.

I've had un-coated long-tube headers for 3 years. I did insulated my starter, but I've checked good and have no wires too close to tubes. No problems. I had a cold air intake but then installed an A&A supercharger. Still have stock ignition. Got it performance tuned and dyno'd 555 hp. I also installed 2 oil coolers because oil temps were hitting +275F at the track.

Don't waste your money on an intake for an LS3 until you're doing heads/cams. The OEM intake on the LS3/LS7 is quite good.

no need for ignition updates.
these motors do love a camshaft update when you're ready, if you have an A6 a Yank 3600 converter is a good step too

center console heat is an issue with these cars. I'd coat the headers, and add an insulated tunnel plate when installing the headers.

A tune to go with the headers would be a good compliment. Tune + headers will give you a boost you can feel.
