I have a base 1lt 2010 c6 it has on star and when my phone is plugged in the aux cord I can speak hands free. I wanna add a touch screen stereo with Apple play, was thinking of adding one with a GPS but adds like extra 200 to the price tag of the unit and my phone has gps so I can just use that, especially when linked to the head unit display. My car is not equipped with Bose. What am I gonna need hardware wise?
How to install a back up camera? I don't wanna drill holes into the car. I also don't like the look of the plate mounted ones. Basically I want it to look almost factory.
Would I be able to add oem steering wheel Bluetooth controls if I get a Bluetooth equipped stereo head unit.
Lastly how much should all this cost to be installed professionally. I have zero experience with doing any electronic work.
Pioneer is $599 at Crutchfield and the camera up grade was close to $200, so that’s about $500 for labor. I’m a pretty handy guy and was going to do it myself but didn’t want to spend most of my weekend stressing about breaking plastic parts.

Ask in the regional forum for recommended installers.
Depending on the features you decide on expect to be anywhere from $600 to $1,000 installed. I had a Pioneer NEX 4201 installed in December and it is a great upgrade.
I got quoted 350-400 for install of a unit and back up cam. My friend said he can do it for free but he'd need to have a whole day off of work.
Thinking of going with the pioneer 1440 and the nd-bc8 back up cam.
How about the Bluetooth steering controls? Would I be able to pop the sliver panel on the left side of wheel off and plug and play or is it more involved. My car has the radio steering controls to the right if the wheel.
So change my mind on the 4200, too much $$$$. I ordered a Pioneer S701BS because I wanted a physical volume **** and it also has a physical phone button, going to do without the back-up camera. Plus after fixing the HUD decided I can install it myself...Less then $200 bucks OTD.
