Default Vararam install question

Bought a Vararam for my 2012 base coupe. Everything looks straight forward with install. Wanting to know from peeps who have previously done it, when you cut out the hole in the
radiator shroud, how accurate was the hole? Should I take the time to cut it, say, 1/8" small and trim to fit, or cut it exactly as the template shows? Want to keep it snug to keep as much air flowing over the radiator and not leak through any shroud-to-vararam clearance.

Not accurate, you have to cut a ton out. I recently swapped to a Halltech.

Pull the shroud out of the car.
DO NOT TRY TO CUT THE SHROUD IN PLACE!!!!!

You can use the template to mark the cut, but pull the shroud out of the car to actually cut its openning.

Hence too many have tried to cut the shroud still mounted in the car, only to end up cutting something else like a A/C line as the same time instead.

To add, with so many changing there C6's back to stock to sell them, check around and you may be able to buy a shroud already cut isntead.

Definitely going to pull the shroud to cut it. Will probably keep my eyes peeled for a stock shroud to keep so I can put it back to stock if needed.

I did mine with shroud in the car using an oscilating tool and propping it away from the AC lines while cutting. Not too big of a job and as long as you're careful and know the risks it's a 45 minute job.
