bought vehicle with motor built by Advanced Induction and they have have been completely useless in helping me with background info.
Had a lifter go bad and wipe out the cam so need new cam & lifters but have no idea what lifters are existing. can someone help ID what these are?
I can't help you identify them but it shouldn't really matter which set was in there. I would replace all 16. They aren't all that expensive but the labor to swap them out later is.
Whomever is doing your engine work (or whomever is selling you lifters) can recommend a set based upon the rest of the valvetrain components and intended use. That's the route I'd go 100% of the time.
Never hard of AI building a car, they just port and rebuild heads, so wouldn't expect them to know anything besides what heads are on it, unless they actually did put this together, which I've never heard of.
Like Tech said, figure out what cam/springs/etc etc you are using then select a new set of 16 lifters based on your setup, not what you had in there.
Was able to find an old Cam box from Bullet Cams, they ran the serial # and confirmed it was sold to AI with whom they no longer do business with....Anyways, new cam is on order, I am the one putting it back together, my goal was for direct replacement so as to maintain the valvetrain geometry and re-use as much as possible. As of yesterday in talking to Texas Speed and measuring the existing lifters are short travel and most likely Comp. So now need to figure out do I stay with short travel or go back to standard travel with likely longer push rods.
