Default Corsa catback question

Hello,
Quick question, do you need to cut the stock xpipe to install corsa catback part#14169CB6. It's for a 08 ls3 manual. I've searched and saw most vids looked to be direct Bolton, however I asked one of the vendors and he did say catback requires cutting. Can u guys confirm or deny?

full disclosure I have a c7z, this is for my neighbors car, he wanted to upgrade and figured I'd ask u guys. Thanks in advance.

Quick Google search, it looks like you replace the stock H pipe with the included X pipe....

I put Corsa Sports on my 07 C6 it was direct bolt on. Considered buying the X pipe which would also be bold on. Just can't decide if I'm ever going to do headers a which point the Corsa X pipe would be redundant.

If you don’t get the matching x pipe then the existing would have to be cut. Most just install the axle back .
