i have a 2007 vette that is having major problems. The engine light goes on intermittently. At times the car vibrates and then just shuts down. Then she can run beautifully for a week or so and then the same old pattern. I can do a start up and all will go good. Then after about the 3rd start up, it won't start. I have to sit anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes and just wait for the system to start back up again.
So far, I have replaced: the throttle body, the starter, several of the relays, replaced hoses, everything has been done and still the same pattern. The dealership isn't much help. When I bring the car there, it will run perfectly. While one dealership had the car, the battery ran down and they wanted to charge me for a "jump".
I think i need to replace the ECM module. Not sure.
Also, would just like to sell, but in all honesty I cannot sell with these problems. Maybe I can unload at a dealership and they sell it. Not sure what to do.
It seems like many of the dealerships hire techs off the street, who have no clue what they are doing. I had one tech leave his notes in my car, on how to do the repair.
Any ideas on what to do next beside let her go.?
FWIW, check the tightness of your battery cables...very easy.
Good luck.
I am getting with the mechanic this evening. we are going to check out the crankshaft position sensor and the battery cables. So, far I have put in new throttle body, new starter, new hoses, new relays , and so on. Everything has been changed but not the crankshaft position sensor. I hope this is the core of the problem. I will get back to you all. I appreciate. I think the techs at most of the dealership, maybe know how to work on the new cars but the older models they have no clue, or the dealerships hire off the streets...
