I bought a used Halltech intake off of another C6Z. I got to ride in his car while it was still installed on his vehicle, and you could definitely hear it sucking in air.
When I swapped it into my car, I noticed that at 30% throttle it would make a whistling noise. The whistling noise disappeared after 40% throttle. The car definitely seems more responsive now and I'm not getting any dash or CEL lights.
I figured it was an air leak though so I retightened all the clamps on the intake, but it's still making that whistling noise. I looked it up and apparently some Camaro SS's with aftermarket intakes make the same noise at around 30% throttle, and it's considered normal:

Normal. Jim Hall explained it on here years back...its the increased velocity of the air intake and the whistle comes from a lip in the OE TB. I assume you still have a stock, untouched TB...yes? Porting the TB would do away with the whistle. My MF103 and stock TB does the same thing under slight throttle conditions.

Thank you very much for the info! Yes, I have a stock TB. It's just strange because the 08Z I drove in also had a stock TB but didn't make the whistle noise. Anyway, seeing as how it's normal, I'll get used to it.
I have a halltech and ported throttle body on my LS3 and have the same sound. I searched for ever trying to find the issue, but gave up. Glad, it's a normal thing.
