Does anybody know if there is a proper way to take this fitting off of the oil line. I alread took the ring off. I did another one just like it and I simply pulled the fitting off with no effort. For some reason I cant pull this one off with all my strength and weight. And I'm 23 years old. This one is the one that goes into the radiator.
Cant find any information on just taking the fitting off (not the ring).
That fitting should come out once you got the locking ring off. First you may want to get a new fitting as something may be wrong, Dorman or Advanced Auto parts sells them. Maybe take a wrench and try to press it off with that. I am wondering if the fitting it caught on the line and just may need to be pulled back and froth a little. You have seen the other one the Y part may be getting caught inside the nut. You may end up having to damage the nut to get it off. As I said without the clip that thing should just come out.
As you can see th new fitting is on the radiator already. It came with the new radiator I purchsed... I just screwed it on there to keep it there for now. I have even tried using several types of plastic and metal quick disconnects but nothing. It looks like I will have to damage the nut although I have been but it just doesn't come off

Need to release clip in fitting. I use this one. Should be able ti use an all or small screw drive to ply one end of clip up which should be enough to get it off.

Reason: mo info
Here it is! It still would not come off with all the damage I did. I still had to use a flathead screw driver to put in between the fitting and the end of the oil line and pry it off! It was a damn hastle.
You can see the other one looks perfectly fine. I simply took the clip off and pulled the line right off. Not the same story with the damaged one... But I got it luckily. Thanks for the input guys!
you take those fittings off ,by taking the clip of completely ,
those tools arnt for those fittings
and a little wd40/penetrating oil on those lines helps too
like I said... I took the small clips off of both fittings. I used a small pick and flat head to take it out. The one that isnt damaged is the first line I did... I took the clip off and pulled the line off of the fitting and it came out with no problem. The second line I tried doing didn't want to come off at all.
on the picture I just put the clip back on the fitting that I took off first when I was done with it.
I think what happened here is even though the clip was off and the line should have just pulled out. The cage area around where the clip is closed in a little thus creating a wedge and the line would not pull out. Maybe somebody before you grabbed the fitting with plyers and pinched the end of it.
