OK got the file unzipped, and then burned a CD. went out to car and tried it and it was a No Go. I tried it with car running and in both the dvd/Map slot and the CD slot.
In CD slot it said it was not a valid CD.
In the DVD slot it said it did nothing and told me to insert the map DVD.
only caviot, is this was burned to a DVD-R not CD-R. as I cant find one in my office to use. Just found a CD-RW will try with it. Was told DVD-R will not work.
for those wanting the info/ link and instructions to try them selves maybe they know how better then I. I just found a CD-RW so will try it next.
"Click the link below and download the file.

Burn the LOADING.KWI to a BLANK CD-R. Once this is completely burned and finished, go to your Corvette
#1 Make sure the vehicle is outside and the engine is running.
#2 On the radio display, press the Open/Close Faceplate Key
#3 Eject the map disc by pressing DVD Map Database Eject Key. Insert the Software Update Disc in the DVD Map Database Slot
The update will start automatically. You will see a progress bar on the screen. The update takes about 2 minutes. The vehicle logo will be seen once the update is completed.
Once you see the Corvette logo, remove the update disc and REINSTALL YOUR MAP DISC!
THIS IS NOT A MAP UPDATE< THIS IS ONLY FOR YOUR CLOCK BEING BLANK"

If you are using Windows 10, then copying the file to a CD-R does not burn it, it only prepares for the burn. When you are happy with the contents of the CD (do not select the USB Option), then you need to right click on the CD drive and select burn.
I burned a CR-R and installed on my 2007 Z51 3LT coupe. The install worked OK, saw the firmware updating.. My clock was still working as the battery had not been disconnected. I have been waiting for this fix so that I could do some work installing a backup camera which requires battery disconnect.

Many thanks! I've got the disk burned and will give it go when I get home.

I wanted to sign up to this message board just post this,
I just applied the firmware update to my 2006 Z06 and now my clock works again! Thanks so much DensoNavi for taking the time and effort to get this done. Truly above and beyond! I hope your boss recognizes your efforts.
As far as applying the fix, I used CD-R and Windows 7's built-in burn feature, just inserted the blank media into my burner, dragged & dropped the 10.8 MB "LOADING.KWI" file on the disk and then clicked on the "Burn Disk" button in Windows Explorer.
On first try, I was not thinking and I chose the first "Like a USB flash drive" option (Live File system). That did not work at all. Then I tried again and chose the correct "With a CD/DVD player" (Mastered) option, like jbeidl above said, and that worked fine.
Just for the record, I did the update in my garage, engine running and with the garage doors open (because of exhaust fumes...). The original post from the other message board from this morning seemed to be adamant (in the video someone else posted above) that you have to be outdoors, but I do not think it is necessary. The clock will get it's time once you go outside, if it cannot get a fix to the satellite indoors.
The update took couple of minutes and I had to drive around couple of more minutes before the clock appeared. It was correct time as well (albeit EST, not PST like I am; I live in California).
Once again, thanks DensoNavi and everyone else who has been keeping this thread alive and GM on it's toes!
(I will leave the CD permanently in my glove box in case I encounter any other clock-less C6 drivers)
Cheers!

I did the update and my clock is back and the GPS seems to work better now, no GPS with the line for a while as previous.
Thank you to all and especially DENSONAVI, et al for your work on this for all of us. I know it is a small thing in the whole scheme of things, however, when that clock came back on and the date correct, I have to tell you, I was a bit giddy with excitement.
Thanks to all for the help.

Finally, a fix was just announced and now available. What’s more, we can do it ourselves at virtually no cost. Here’s the link to the fix info, instructions and the rest of the story:

Hallelujah! Do all your other C6 Vette owner buddies a favor and forward this information to them!

The person who deserves the credit for the fix is the engineer, Densonavi. Who, if you recall, posted what he was doing, on this forum, and that he was testing it on several cars before the release date, REQUESTED BY GM OF 11/11/19. Densonavi took this task on himself to help us out. He asked for no money. The only request he had was NOT TO POST THE FIX UNTIL 11/11/19. The date requested by GM so they could send a service bulletin to their dealership network.
AND HOW DID WE REPAY DENSONAVI FOR HIS WORK...we betrayed his trust by releasing the fix too early. Did anyone consider the consequences of this action? Of course not. I hope for his sake he does not get into hot water because of the selfish actions of a few.
