Major PITA to drop the tanks to get to the sensors, and plan on having to do it twice, since there are O ring and fitting that have to be put together correctly on the cross over tube as your putting the tanks back in.

Also, make sure that the fuel level sensor you get is for your year of car!!!!! There was as swap in the way the sensor read for newer C6, and if you install the wrong one, tank sensor will read empty when the tank is full (and visa versa).

Bluntly, GM should have put access panel covers in the car to get to the fuel pumps, instead of having to drop the tanks to get to the pumps and sensors isntead.

If you have a custom tune, go back to the tuner and have them tell the computer to ignore the fuel sensor codes. Your gauge will start working again. Been running mine like that for 3 years and the fuel gauge works perfect.

I used seafoam on mine and they broke lose, believe the floats were stuck. I was told and don't know how true it is but local mechanic said GM dealership can "reflash" the computer and that will help. Not sure what that means or what it does.

Is this car a manual trans or automatic?

I have several responses on this forum on how to bypass the sensor using cheap resistors. Tap on my name and then Find All Redponsed link to see my responses.
