So long story short I've had my corvette about 2.5 years. I bought it and it ran high 11s trapping in the 11x area. Wasn't happy got it retuned added nitrous and the best pass back then was 10.9@126 all motor and 10.6@132 spraying 100 shot. Got a new converter moved to el paso went to a flex fuel setup. The best nitrous pass there was a 10.1@134 spraying a 200 with e85 shot with the da around 6,000. I ended up having my oil pump break so i pulled the motor changed the oil pump, and the cam. The car felt great moved to NC went to the track my converter broke again, i snapped an axle, the converter destroyed the transmission in the long run so i bought a circle d converter and plus a used 6l80 off ebay for $600 havent had any issues since.
Yesterday On pump 93 the car had the best et of 10.74 with the best mph of 128 all motor with a 28" tire. Spraying 100 shot with issues (fuel pump for my fuel cell wasnt hooked up oops) it went 9.98@135, a progressed 150 it went 9.76, 9.73, then 9.71 all those passes were on the factory front wheels and tires. I Jetted the car to a 175 still being ramped in and the car spun both passes but me being stubborn wouldn't soften the hit to come out the hole harder resulting in a 9.69@140 with the slowest 60ft of the day in the corvette.
It’s nice to see a simple setup like this knocking down 9 second passes at will, especially after having a number of setbacks.
I wish I could get my car to leave like this, although our track surface is crap compared to the one I see in that video.
I don’t see any suspension mods listed, so I take it the suspension is stock? If so, don’t let anyone talk you into wasting money on coilovers. At most, all you might need would be some decent D/A shocks in the rear.

Yeah everything is stock suspension wise. I was planning on some viking adjustable shocks or something along those lines. It was spinning on my 9.6 passes. Went from 1.38 60s on the 9.7 passes to 1.45 and 1.43 on my 6.9 passes. The track prep was on point but it was a rental. It could do better with new tires these are over a year old with over 1000 miles.
Are you going through the traps in third or spraying through the 3/4 shift?
It's still in 3rd going through the traps. my 9.7 passes we were still working on shift points so it shifted into 4th right before i went through the traps.
I had the day off today so I went and weighed the car. 3440 as it sits from the 9.6 pass with me in it. So the car weighs right around 3250 with no driver.
Just checked the log, 6954@140mph 3rd gear. 28" tire with 19psi (cold) This is with the converter unlocked. I could ride it out more if I locked it.
That’s the way to keep these 6L80 transmissions alive apparently - keep them from shifting into 4th. I take it that’s with the stock 2.56 gearing?
If you lock up the converter in third, you’ll probably pick up 1-2mph too, and shave maybe 0.025-0.05 of ET, whilst keeping the RPM down by a few hundred going through the finish.

Yes stock 2.56 rear.
My last 6l80 was fine shifting into 4th for 2 years with nitrous. It just had a converter issue which made it start to over heat so i replaced it. I've only locked it a few times for logging. Once I step up the shot I'll lock it in 3rd and rev it out.
