Default Gas tank release issues

So here's the question y'all....2011 gas tank won't open, not even with the emergency release in the back. I can hear the clicking sound of it trying when I hit the inside button so I'm assuming that the spring is corroded. I'm about to trade her in on a newer model. How do I get to the spring to see if the old school WD40 trick will get her past trade?

Pretty common. push down the carpet on the inside of the hatch, driver's side and you'll see the solenoid and cable. carefully work it in and out and it should pop the door.

You can buy the whole assembly from zips for about $125. Or you can take yours apart, clean it, wd40 it and put it back together for free. If it needs a new spring that's about 99 cents for a good pen to steal the spring from. Since you're trading it in, I'd go the free route.

Here is a link to a how to that someone posted which will explain how to easily get the actuator in and out of the fender.
