C6 2005, engine noise and DTC codes...help needed

Hello,

New member from Finland

I Have 2005 C6 Z51 with 117 tmls on clock.

I got a "snapping/clanking noise" on engine. It is not very loud, just to hear it - it follows the revs.
Oil pressure is OK, cold and warm.

Checked all rotating parts on serpentine belt with stethoscope, nothing unusual there.

Also listened headers, spark plugs surroundings, valve covers, intake runners etc. "per cylinder" with stethoscope - no weird noises...

I think the noise is coming from camshaft gear area, or underneath the car ( can be heard clearly under the front bumper, front of the car)

After the noise came two DTC Codes:
P0016
Crankshaft Position (CKP)-Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation
ECM
DTC P0016 for the 6.0L engine

P0341
Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Performance
ECM
DTC P0341 for the 6.0L engine

Any suggestions ? Something parting out on camshaft gear and eating the sensor ?

possibly the cam bolts may be loose and backing out.stock cam or has it ever been replaced?

Totally stock on my knowledge.
I have same thoughts because cam position code

Try using your stethoscope on the engine front cover to determine if the noise is possibly originating from the cam bolt area.When they do back out they usually damage the cam sensor
